Week 6 Results - 6/22/2019 - Start of Week Last Week - Day 42
7:00 am - Saturday
7:00 am - Saturday
Meet in office for end of Week 6 health interview, update of full body measurements and body fat analysis. Unfortunately my last week is going to be a couple of days shorter, I am getting my progress report measurements at the end of week 6 on Saturday instead of the normal start of the next week on Monday since I have to take Monday and Tuesday off from Week 7 to deal with an unexpected family related situation in Cape Coral, FL. I am hoping to have things resolved in the 2 days I will not attend or my last week at the boot camp may be a total bust, keeping fingers crossed as this stage.
7:00 am / 7:30 am - Morning Wake-up, In room stretching
- Starting Weight 319
- BMI: 46.4
- Body Fat: 34.3
- Blood Pressure: 138 / 75
- Max Heart Rate during program: 160 BPM
- Average Resting Heart Rate (RHR): 72 BPM
- Max Calorie Intake during program: 1700
According to the updated body fat analysis, the latest numbers indicate a ZERO pound reduction in weight during Week 6, it seems I have hit the so called "Weight plateau" where the body just refuses to give up weight, this is considered a normal event during periods of sustained weight loss:

The calf muscle inflammation continued during week 6 and it still limits any amount of cardio based workouts. However, I was still able to get in an average of 4 hours a day of primarily upper body weight training which is showing up in other body measurements. Based on the ultrasound and CT health screening scans I did during weeks 5 and 6, I do not have a DVT in my right calf, however, my PCP is still going to schedule a full MRI when I get back home at the end of next week just to be 100% sure.
Body Fat and BMI readings were a mixed bag from the previous week. BMI increased by ".2" yet my Body Fat Percentage dropped by the same number....? go figure. Although the scale did not move 1 pound during week 6, I still experienced yet another 1 inch average loss in body areas that need reduction. My high blood pressure (HBP) readings continue their downward trend also from 170 / 98 on Day 1 to 138 / 75 on Day 42. Week 6 produced zero weight loss yet it also produced the biggest weekly drop in my systolic reading and yet another drop in my morning average resting heart rate, it is now 72 BPM.
Although my blood pressure readings have been reduced substantially over the last 8 weeks since taking medical leave time off from work, my current numbers still need to go down just a bit more according to the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology who have recently changed the definition of high blood pressure or hypertension for adults over 55.
