Start of Phase 2 - Doctors, DVT's and Insurance Fun

Image
Sunday - 7 /07/2019 Phase 2 of my post weight loss boot camp program is in progress, first week at home in the books. Unfortunately it was a very unproductive week in the weight loss department due to all the personal (Mom) and pesky medical issues I have been dealing with all week. O nce again I am reminded how easy it is to slip in a few pounds when I get off track. I did manage to drop 2 of the the 4 pounds I regained during the last week of the weight loss boot camp, only to regain a pound by Sunday morning so I am officially starting Phase 2 at 324 pounds.    I did complete my  Planet Fitness  Black Card membership signup at the new location in Daphne, AL on Monday 7/1 which is less than 10 minutes from my home. The facility is HUGE, there is a large  amount of available equipment and  the hours of operation include 24 hour availability Monday through Thursday with late hours the rest of the week. This should allow me to squeeze in a minimum ...

End of Weight Loss Boot Camp and Results

END OF PHASE 1    7:00 am - Monday - 7 /01/2019 On Sunday, 6/30/2019 I had my final week health interview, update of full body measurements, body fat analysis and body composition pictures for the "before and after" photo collage. My weight loss boot camp program ended on a couple of low notes. As previously mentioned, I had to cut the program down to 7 weeks from the original 10 weeks due to physical limitations, at the beginning it was my lower back and right hip replacement, then the pesky right calf sprain that's still an issue as of today. And on the final week, I missed the first 3 days due to a family emergency and experienced a slight increase in weight (4 pounds) and average morning blood pressure readings. I was reminded that regardless of the reduced schedule and small setbacks on my final week, overall I should be satisfied with what I have accomplished so far and the core objective of reducing my high blood pressure (HBP) readings appears to have been acc...

Day 47 - Late Start to Final Week.

Week 7 - Last Week - Thursday,  Day 47  7:00 am - 06/27/2019 Returned a day late so the final week at the weight loss boot camp is reduced by 3 days instead of 2. For those who emailed me directly asking what is/was the issue, the assumption was correct, Cape Coral, FL is where my mom lives, she is currently in the hospital. I really do not want to get into any more details then that, I have found out very recently that even with the amount of weight I have lost in the past 7 weeks it does not take much stress to get my blood pressure to rise, meaning I still have a way to go before I can safely say I am in the clear from high blood pressure related complications. Loosing weight is half the battle, learning to cope and deal with stress is the other half that I have yet to get a handle on. On the subject of loosing weight and stress, the other reminder is how EASILY it is to pack on weight after someone has worked so hard to loose it, in the 4 days I was out of the progra...

Unfortunately my last week is going to be a couple of days shorter, I am getting my progress report measurements at the end of week 6 on Saturday instead of the normal start of the next week on Monday since I have to take Monday and Tuesday off from Week 7 to deal with an unexpected family related situation in Cape Coral, FL. I am hoping to have things resolved in the 2 days I will not attend or my last week at the boot camp may be a total bust, keeping fingers crossed as this stage. Day 33 - Ultrasound & CT Scans

6/15/2019 -  Day 35 7:00 am - Saturday Since Week 1, I have had difficulties in completing the full work out program due to pain in my lower back and right hip, those pain related issues have decreased somewhat as the weight has come off,or at least I have worked through the pain to allow an increase in workout intensity. However a new pain point has come into play, it started earlier this week while walking with the weight vest. As of Monday, 6/10/2019 I have been dealing with a muscle strain in my lower right calf that has been getting worse over the last several days.  The lead trainer was concerned of the possibility of a Deep Venous Thrombosis (DVT), I am not a doctor nor is the trainer yet I felt the opinion of a possible DVT was a bit off the mark since I did not have any of the well known DVT in leg symptoms such as swelling in my foot, ankle, or leg, usually on the side where the DVT may be forming. I do have cramping pain in the right calf but it is not a c...
